Actor Pankaj Tripathi says earlier he was not in a position to read the script of his film in Hindi, but now he can.

Pankaj Tripathi insists on speaking in Hindi. It’s not that he doesn’t know English; He prefers to communicate only in Hindi. The actor is quick to refute the idea that success in life is impossible for a person who doesn’t speak English.
Actor Pankaj Tripathi says he doesn’t like the idea of doing a film or show in a language he is not comfortable with. Tripathi, the versatile actor of films like “Stree”, “Gurgaon”, “Ludo” and web series “Mirzapur”, says he is not in favor of getting his voice dubbed by any other actor.
The 46-year-old, who made his debut in the Hindi film industry with the film Run in 2004, continued, “Language is only a mode of communication, not a parameter of how much knowledge one has. That hangover should go away.
“I cannot generalize and say that everyone speaks Hindi, but the majority do. Two-three per cent, who belong to important departments on the sets, speak in English.
Asked if he would ever work in a Bengali film, Tripathi said that he has an understanding of the Bengali language but it is not enough.
He said, “Ami alpo alpo bangla jani, bhaloi buzhi kintu bhalo bole parina (I know a little bit of Bengali and understand completely but can’t speak much). It is not enough to portray a Bengali speaking character. “
Tripathi said, however, that he will do a Bengali film if he is cast as a Hindi-speaking character.
The actor is currently in the limelight with filmmaker Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’, which is set to release across the country on Friday.
